You may have noticed it has been a few weeks since my last post. My team and I have been very busy working on features for the next release, and I barely have time for anything else. Still, I wanted to post something, so all of you know that I am still around and committed to this blog. I am preparing some new articles, and I will get them posted very soon.
In the meantime, I want to talk about Autodesk University 2011. As you may already know, the AU 2011 class catalog is online, and you may want to take a look and start planning the event. Now it is the time to go to your boss and explain why it is so important you attend the event.
I am, personally, very excited because I will be teaching a class this year. For those of you interested, the class is “Understanding the Alignments and Profiles API in AutoCAD Civil 3D”. The key learning objectives, as explained in the class page are:
- Describe the structure of the Alignment and Profile objects.
- Manipulate points of vertical intersection (PVI) in Profile objects.
- Manipulate points of intersection (PI) in Alignment objects.
- Explain curve groups in Alignments.
If you have any questions about the class, you can contact me through the AU website and post your questions there. That way, everyone attending the class can go through the questions and answers.
I am fairly new to AU (this is my second year attending and teaching), and I was not aware of the Un-Conference classes. These type of classes are a little more layback and provide a good environment for discussion. This is of big interest to me because one of my motivations to attend AU is to meet and talk with all of you and learn how we can do things better. This year, I won’t be able to prepare an Un-Conference session, but if you are interested in meet and discuss the Civil 3D API, let me know, and I’ll see if I can organize something (even if is an informal chat over a few beers).
